In the midst of uncertainty that greeted the Covid-19 pandemic, there is one thing we knew for sure, we believed vaccines are an essential part of a long-term solution for ending the pandemic and we were committed to bring our deep heritage in vaccine development, remarkable reach and scale, and capital resources to serve the millions of people around the world impacted by this devastating illness

In collaboration with BioNTech, Pfizer worked closely with regulatory authorities to deploy the vaccine to stop the spread of COVID-19 infection. Both companies leveraged our decades of scientific expertise in pioneering vaccine discovery and development to respond to this global health crisis.

The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine has been developed and in use in approved countries as we are leaving no stone unturned to harness the full breadth and depth of our resources to address this crisis.

At local level in the wake of the pandemic, we were able to provide critical support to the healthcare practitioners at the frontline of this pandemic, the communities in which we operate and the patients whom we ultimately serve. To this effect, Pfizer made a contribution of N34,158,650 towards initiatives that include Covid-19 HCP education and the development of education and navigation materials for high-risk patient groups who are at greater risk of death should they contract the virus.
